Its been 2 long weeks…

Finally I manage to find some time to update. Nother really exciting happened, except the big fact that im turning into an aunty, god knows why! But it felt good, so just let nature take its course, prob Im meant to be an aunty after all… haahaha… whos to say the life of an aunty is not fabuloso? :)

So ive been doing a great deal of baking recently… this is my walnut banana cake… Wouldnt say i did too well in this… but prob 7/10?

To avoid the auntiness eating the whole of me, had some partying done too, to balance things up! :)

Went to Velvet with Lucia and some colleagues, had a blast, then 2nd round to Cynna, a bigger blast?

Check out this pic. Couples making out left and right! Priceless picture eh… wonder whats the occasion, or rather whats in the air… ppl finding the need to moist each others tongue? urk…..

Was a HLB event… prob they gave sub cards to their chicks and are now reaping its benefits? Maybe.. just maybe…

DSC00270

I had a great deal of fun myself… made friends with a bunch of weird aussie ppl.. i said weird cos this dude who was trying to lift up the guy lifting me…. can actually ‘eat’ fire? He basically lit a match stick and place it on his tongue and close his mouth with the fire on.. well we had a pic of his mouth glowing with fire in the dark… but i was somehow drunk enough and deleted them…. argh…

Here’s us at Cynna, with some IBM-ers? (is that how they called themselves?)

Hijacked some dudes hat… sowee…. :P

PS- looking at this pic im kinda grossed out at the sweat stain on the hat.. eweeeeeeeeeeeee

Back to being Aunty May…. Apart from baking, been adopting some gardening…. It is actually quite enlightening, learning about various breeds of flowers and how to take care of them

DSC00419

And thanks to dear colleague Susan, been taking an extra keen interest on roses. Never been a big fan of flowers, always thought that its a big waste of money for sayang to give me flowers on bday or Vday, as their wilt and die, then there goes rm100. But with flowers that you plant on your own, its a whole different ball game. Takes a lil effort to buy and choose the right ones, plant them, water and nurture them and let Mr Sun do its job in keeping them alive..

Here’s me working hard on my garden. Very new at handling gardening tools, and still a lil afraid of the dirt…. always imagined a little worm popping out at me or worst, start scolding me for destroying its home! (the worm in my mind looked a lot like the taking zombie worm in corpes bride!)

DSC00456

Often we do gardening till its quote late… sometimes when it is dark..

Sayang goofing around while packing up or gardening stuff…  ok… time to get back to work… ta!

Hello… long time no see!

October 12, 2008 · 3 Comments

Wow, its been a super duper long time since I’ve updated my blog. Not going to dwell on the same old excuses, but moving on to whats up lately.

Moved in to the new house. Its been a tiring and crazy week of packing, moving and unpacking. Now that finally all the boxes have been unpacked, its time to place everything in its place and start decorating. Overall, its been such a fun and exciting process. Although its super tiring and tedious, but its just so so so so worth it.

Celebrated Lucias birthday last week at Red box then to MOS, had a blast with the gurls! Too bad some parts of the night were pretty blurry… arr… vodca has always been my weekness, and Lulu makes the bitter-est vodca mix… bluerrrgghh… (but I loved it). So thanks to Eric, now i have my own Absolute Mango. Shall wait till my booze collection reaches a presentable amount, then.. PARTAYYYYYY!!!!!!!~~~~!!!~~~!

Work’s been quite a bitch lately. Lots to do, last minute scrambles, oh well.. whats new eh?

Oh, gotten a new phone too, E66, so heres some pics from my new phone. :)

New house, everything new, except no new $$ flowing in.. argh. In efforts to save more money, we try to DIY everything we can, from painting, fixing the lights, fan, etc.

Here’s MR Ikeaman. Yeah, I know, the house is still a huge mass, Im sure its going to be another month or so till everything is spec and clean.

Kitchen cabinet in progress. A little piece of heads up to those purchasing from Ikea, it is so totally worth it to pay the assembling fee. Saves you loads of trouble. These men, can assemble my whole wet kitchen within 4 hours.

This guy? Hrmph.. took him about 3 days to complete my wardrobe, and on day 2 the bloody wardrobe fell on me! Major ouchie! And had a slight concussion I guess.

Wardrobe room. Whole 13 ft just for clothes and shoes… HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!~!!!!!!!~!!!!! Believe it or not, still insufficient place… wonders where all these clothes appear from.. sigh

Ok, enough of the new house.

Time to talk about some good food.

Yummy sweet sour crabs with fried bread.. only Rm15 at this food court in Puchong.. YUM YUM YUM!!!

Yesterday night, had a great time with Sayang & Eric. It is Sayangs birthday today, so we headed to Groove Junction in Hartamas for dinner and wine. Food there was not bad, we had the Rocket Salad, Fried Oyster Mushrooms and Lamb Shank. Well, no pictures, it was pretty dark and I was very hungry. hehehe…. Then Eric came, and join us for wine while we chill out to the sounds of Josie Thomas and his band. Pretty good, upbeat jazz tunes. Kevin was requested to go up to stage while they sang him the birthday song, and we had to dance to the LONGEST SONG EVER!! That… was pretty embarassing.. i wasnt high enough to enjoy it. But all in all, we had a super great time. Its 9am  now, gotta start cooking dinner in a while.. got this recipe from the new which I plan to try. Baked penne in beans, sausages, vege and chesse. YUM?? We shall see…

Also, heading off for happy hour with the gals in the evening.. YIPPPPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!~~~~!!!!!~~!!!!!~~~~!!!!!

DO NOT CON ME PLS!!!!

September 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Wow. It’s been a hectic month for me. Lots to do, so little time, so little money!! HELP!!!!!!!

I’ve been having several mini meltdowns when it comes to the house renovation. Starting to think that probably we should have bought a condo unit instead of a landed house. Theres just so many things to look into, and it can be quite annoying when things dont go my way.

Finally hired a contractor after surveying like 100 of them (ok, im exaggerating, prob 10 of them). But seems like so many cos in the process of getting quotes, we need to brief them, bring them to the house, explain what we want in detail yet make sure they do it within our budget.. super tiring!!! The one we settled for is somewhat ’special’. He has a .. erm.. harelip… and.. speaks no english… and.. its kind hard to understand what he is saying (though im quite alright with mandarin now), but thats one reason why i settled for this guy. He tries very very hard to make sure we understand what he is saying, came few rounds to the house to meet us, brought us to his office, met his ’si tau poh’ and gets everything down in B&W too. It’s not out of pity, but somehow he is the only one that I have a teeny wee bit faith that he would not con me. (so unlike the rest, upon meeting them i have the aura that im their next target). Agaisnt all odds.. im sure he will get the job done to match up to the standard of other contractors. Keeping my fingers crossed…  hope he get thru my renovation project in one piece! :P

Latest hurdle was the stupid permit application for doing renovation. Standard fee from contractors are RM2K or so including about RM1K deposite. Thank god a kind collegue tipped us that if we do it ourselves, would save a whole lot more, TOTALLY TRUE!!!! Sayang went to MPSJ and it cost us only Rm50 for the sijil, and Rm140 a week for the dustbin. Stupid Alam Flora is charging RM500! BAH! All bloodsuckers!! This past week Ive been like leaving in fear, fear of having all our dough sucked out unnessasarily. Sigh…. MAJOR HEADACHE!!!! Thank god we plan to stay in this house for at least 5 years. Cant bear doing another round of this anytime soon!

Ok, its time to start working and earn more dough!! Argh… life.. oh life…..

Ikea Ikea

June 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

It’s really been ages since I’ve last stepped foot into Ikea. Yesterday, in desperate efforts to end the tedious process of shortlisting our vendors for our new house, we decided to pop in Ikea for a look see. Suprisingly, I really do fall in love with their concepts, designs and simplicity. Some may be a little pricey, but at least we can get everything completed, and not worried about being ripped of by contractor/vendors who would only produce hidden cost in the middle of the project. However, will still go screening through few more contractors next Sat, before making our decision.

Crap, being a responsible adult is darn hard work. I wish I could just reach out my hand, palms facing up and get money from my MBF (mak bapak finance). Easy way out. No more worries about not having enough for house and wedding, no more worries about having to save up hard now, no more worries about not being able to do things I really want to the house due to financial restrains.

- I want to have a nice glass ceiling, gaze at the stars before I go to bed

- I want to have a nice Balinese garden with mini falls and ponds with lotsa Koi fishes

- I want to have a motion sensor for lights. So whenever I step in the house, lights from different section of the house will automatically turn on when I pass through.

- I want to have a water bed.. cos.. you know… :P

- I want to have a complete audio surround system where at one clap, music would be turned on.

- I want to have a computerised walk in wardrobe where I can browse & assemble my outfits on the system and automatically the clothes I want would pop out from the warbdrobe.

- I want a bar mixer that produces any drinks programmed into it automatically.

Damn… theres really lots of things I would love to have, but I’m no garderner who grows a money tree, so I guess I would have to look at some realistic options.

Ikea, is absolutely the best place to visit to have the feet on the ground yet feeding your dreams kinda feel.

Sayang & I had a quick dinner there before starting to comb the whole of Ikea. Food there was good. Especially the  meatballs! Yum Yum!

We had a chicken curry puff, meatballs, salad, and bbq chicken.

Me & my fav vege, JAGUNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG….

After a wholesome meal, we begin to wonder around from showroom to showroom, debating on ideas we have. I noticed me and sayang, we have many different views. And we totally don’t connect. I would explain and visualise from another angle, and he would do it the whole opposite direction. But oh well, guess thats why we are so meant to be. Opposite attracts eh.

However, we both agreed on this combination for our wet kitchen. It’s practical for a outdoor wet kitchen, durable, weather resistant and not too bad looking eh…

As for my dry kitchen, probably will opt for something like this. White marble/granite top. Have bought a slab of white marble for my counter top. So gotta match it, yes? no?

Sigh… all this head cracking and mind blogging stuff on kitchen top material is driving me crazy. Theres just so many options. Granite? Tiles? Marble? Wood? Mellamine? etc etc….

But once and for all, its MARBLE! (cos i’ve bought the white marble slab for my counter!) <- Impulse buy at a warehouse sale.. DAMMIT!!!~~!!

Wanted something more funky looking for the bar, just like this innitially. But this is FREAKING EXPENSIVE! Sigh.. so settled for the silver scooped bar stools instead.

So bought 2 of this silver bar stools (another impulse buy). So white marble and silver? arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I dont think stools like this would be very comfy. Your backside would hurt if you sit on this for a long time, let alone enjoy drinks… oh well… I guess its just to accessorise the house…

There are more kitchen ideas from Ikea here, pretty interesting. Just got to find one that fits my teeny budget. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

http://www.ikea.com.my/complete_kitchen_2008/complete_kitchen_2008.asp

We went on a hunt for wardrobe as well. Since I’m planning to dedicate the whole room to my clothes, it’s a darn difficult choice.

Kinda like the idea of a open concept walk in wardrobe.

Think is moderm feel and easy to cordinate all my items.

Also definately need a shoe rack as well….

But the conventional panelled warbdrobe seems nice as well, and very organized. The open concept kinda gives be the DIY vibe. But sayang seems to like that more, says its modern and clean looking.

Decisions, decisions, decisions…..

Also as we look through some bedroom stuff… we are aiming for something really simple and practical…

But somehow really tempted but stuff that is funky, like this. Cool eh? Got this off the internet, Not even sure if anywhere in Malaysia is selling something like this…

But finally settled for the simple and modern feel. Easy to maintain as well…..

All those scouting and calculating got us hungry again. So we had another quick bite.

Sayang simply loves the hot dog! But I have to say that their quality of hotdogs has dropped tremendously. Oh well, no wonder its bloody cheap. RM1.50 only!

Still busy calculating measurements and evaluating options. Ikea does have lots of options and is flexible to customization. Downside is, there is some fair bit of calculating and trying to fit bits and pieces here and there.

HUNGRYYYYYYYYYYYYY…… Pigging out on curry puffs and hotdogs! (no wonder I cant seem to loose weight! Arghhhhh…

Have another month or so to finalize what we want for our new home… decisions.. decisions.. decisions…
