It’s really been ages since I’ve last stepped foot into Ikea. Yesterday, in desperate efforts to end the tedious process of shortlisting our vendors for our new house, we decided to pop in Ikea for a look see. Suprisingly, I really do fall in love with their concepts, designs and simplicity. Some may be a little pricey, but at least we can get everything completed, and not worried about being ripped of by contractor/vendors who would only produce hidden cost in the middle of the project. However, will still go screening through few more contractors next Sat, before making our decision.
Crap, being a responsible adult is darn hard work. I wish I could just reach out my hand, palms facing up and get money from my MBF (mak bapak finance). Easy way out. No more worries about not having enough for house and wedding, no more worries about having to save up hard now, no more worries about not being able to do things I really want to the house due to financial restrains.
- I want to have a nice glass ceiling, gaze at the stars before I go to bed
- I want to have a nice Balinese garden with mini falls and ponds with lotsa Koi fishes
- I want to have a motion sensor for lights. So whenever I step in the house, lights from different section of the house will automatically turn on when I pass through.
- I want to have a water bed.. cos.. you know…
- I want to have a complete audio surround system where at one clap, music would be turned on.
- I want to have a computerised walk in wardrobe where I can browse & assemble my outfits on the system and automatically the clothes I want would pop out from the warbdrobe.
- I want a bar mixer that produces any drinks programmed into it automatically.
Damn… theres really lots of things I would love to have, but I’m no garderner who grows a money tree, so I guess I would have to look at some realistic options.
Ikea, is absolutely the best place to visit to have the feet on the ground yet feeding your dreams kinda feel.
Sayang & I had a quick dinner there before starting to comb the whole of Ikea. Food there was good. Especially the meatballs! Yum Yum!
We had a chicken curry puff, meatballs, salad, and bbq chicken.

Me & my fav vege, JAGUNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG….
After a wholesome meal, we begin to wonder around from showroom to showroom, debating on ideas we have. I noticed me and sayang, we have many different views. And we totally don’t connect. I would explain and visualise from another angle, and he would do it the whole opposite direction. But oh well, guess thats why we are so meant to be. Opposite attracts eh.
However, we both agreed on this combination for our wet kitchen. It’s practical for a outdoor wet kitchen, durable, weather resistant and not too bad looking eh…

As for my dry kitchen, probably will opt for something like this. White marble/granite top. Have bought a slab of white marble for my counter top. So gotta match it, yes? no?
Sigh… all this head cracking and mind blogging stuff on kitchen top material is driving me crazy. Theres just so many options. Granite? Tiles? Marble? Wood? Mellamine? etc etc….
But once and for all, its MARBLE! (cos i’ve bought the white marble slab for my counter!) <- Impulse buy at a warehouse sale.. DAMMIT!!!~~!!

Wanted something more funky looking for the bar, just like this innitially. But this is FREAKING EXPENSIVE! Sigh.. so settled for the silver scooped bar stools instead.

So bought 2 of this silver bar stools (another impulse buy). So white marble and silver? arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I dont think stools like this would be very comfy. Your backside would hurt if you sit on this for a long time, let alone enjoy drinks… oh well… I guess its just to accessorise the house…

There are more kitchen ideas from Ikea here, pretty interesting. Just got to find one that fits my teeny budget. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

We went on a hunt for wardrobe as well. Since I’m planning to dedicate the whole room to my clothes, it’s a darn difficult choice.
Kinda like the idea of a open concept walk in wardrobe.

Think is moderm feel and easy to cordinate all my items.
Also definately need a shoe rack as well….

But the conventional panelled warbdrobe seems nice as well, and very organized. The open concept kinda gives be the DIY vibe. But sayang seems to like that more, says its modern and clean looking.
Decisions, decisions, decisions…..

Also as we look through some bedroom stuff… we are aiming for something really simple and practical…
But somehow really tempted but stuff that is funky, like this. Cool eh? Got this off the internet, Not even sure if anywhere in Malaysia is selling something like this…

But finally settled for the simple and modern feel. Easy to maintain as well…..

All those scouting and calculating got us hungry again. So we had another quick bite.
Sayang simply loves the hot dog! But I have to say that their quality of hotdogs has dropped tremendously. Oh well, no wonder its bloody cheap. RM1.50 only!

Still busy calculating measurements and evaluating options. Ikea does have lots of options and is flexible to customization. Downside is, there is some fair bit of calculating and trying to fit bits and pieces here and there.

HUNGRYYYYYYYYYYYYY…… Pigging out on curry puffs and hotdogs! (no wonder I cant seem to loose weight! Arghhhhh…

Have another month or so to finalize what we want for our new home… decisions.. decisions.. decisions…
